"Dorothy's Gift"
Through "Dorothy's Gift" A V Home Care Services supports the needs of frail elderly, disabled and recuperating adults who do not qualify for programs meant to help them in their homes and to offset costs, as well. Many such people simply do not have the money to pay out of pocket. Dorothy gave us the notion and our "seed" money of $5 back in 2005 when she first sent us extra money with her payment and asked us to use it “to help someone who needs it.” She was over 90 years of age at the time. Since then, “Dorothy’s Gift” has grown into a favorite of donors near and far who have heard her story and are moved to respond in kind. Every month, AVHCS receives donations from loyal contributors who believe, as Dorothy does in the power of right intentions. Our muse continues to show us over and over again how easy it is to bring light and life into other people’s homes when they really need both. Won’t you join her? Dorothy's vision...our mission.
