A Smarter Way to Work in Healthcare

Right Here in Berlin, NH

Introducing The IDEA: A flexible, community-first staffing solution built for LNAs who want control and healthcare providers who need support.

WHAT IS THE IDEA?

The IDEA (Inter-Disciplinary Elite Aides) is a locally grown pilot program helping Licensed Nursing Assistants (LNAs) work per diem across multiple healthcare providers — on their own schedule.

Rather than working full-time at a single organization, IDEA participants are trained to work at multiple partner locations and can pick up shifts anytime through a mobile scheduling platform.

Think of it as a shared float pool that works for everyone.

WHO IT’S FOR

The Community

Fewer gaps in care. Stronger local health systems. Better outcomes. Everybody wins.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. LNAs apply and interview with participating healthcare organizations (not the IDEA itself).
  2. Hired LNAs are trained at each participating facility.
  3. Once trained, they get access to a mobile scheduling platform that lists open shifts 24/7.
  4. They can work when and where they want, with no minimum commitment.
  5. Providers get qualified, pre-trained staff exactly when they need them.

WHY THIS MATTERS

Rural health systems in places like Berlin and Coös County are in a crisis. LNAs are burned out, underpaid, and often forced to leave the field. Facilities are short-staffed. Beds are closed. Patients sit in hospitals because there’s nowhere to send them.

The IDEA helps fix that.

  • For workers: Freedom, flexibility, and real choices
  • For providers: More shifts filled. Less burnout.
  • For our region: A sustainable path forward for rural healthcare

This isn’t a temp agency. It’s a community solution.

WHO'S BEHIND IT?

This pilot was developed by local leaders in healthcare and backed by AV Home Care Services. It’s the result of on-the-ground experience, shared frustration, and a big dose of creativity.

With legal guidance and a carefully crafted structure, the IDEA is designed to protect all parties and stay compliant with labor and employment law while delivering real impact.
